Blanton, Thompson named SHS/SPS Students of the Month for September

SIKESTON — Caroline Blanton and Dakota Thompson were named Sikeston High School Students of the Month for September.

Sikeston Public Schools Foundation, which sponsors the monthly program, names two seniors each month for the academic honor during the 2024-2025 school year. Students also receive a certificate and gift card from the Foundation.

Blanton, who is the daughter of Kevin and Amy Blanton, serves as the co-editor-in-chief of the Bulldog Barker; president of Key Club; president of DECA; president of ASTRA; student leader of Fellowship of Christian Athletes; and member of National Honor Society band, Red Peppers, Student Council, Link Crew, Inspired Presenters, FBLA, ACT 21+ Club, Grown Your Own Teachers, First United Methodist Church youth group and Interact Club. Her hobbies include baking, caligraphy and puzzles.

Thompson is the daughter of Amy and Tim Thompson. She is a member of Key Club, Skills USA, National Honor Society, A+ program, varsity softball, Link Crew, Science Olympiad and ACT 21+ Club. In her spare time, she enjoys playing travel softbal, camping, painting and piecing puzzles together.
