Youngsters enjoy a ride Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2024, at the 80th Annual American Legion Cotton Carnival at the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo grounds. Cotton Carnival Parade begins at 10 a.m. today. This year’s theme is “Eight Decades of Success.” The carnival opens at noon at the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo grounds. Wristbands will be $30 from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday. The Miss Cotton Carnival Contest will be at 1:30 p.m. and Miss Sikeston at 8 p.m. If it rains, Miss Cotton Carnival will be in the entertainment building directly behind the stage.
