SIKESTON — Barry L. Brownfield, age 57, died Friday, Sept. 27, 2024, at his home in Sikeston.

Born June 10, 1967, at Sikeston, to Mary Carolyn Yeakey Brownfield who survives of Sikeston, and the late Grover Gordan Brownfield, he had lived in Sikeston his entire life. A graduate of Sikeston High School, he went on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree majoring in criminal justice from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. He was a faithful member of Tanner Street Church of God in Sikeston.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his sister, Connie Pennington; his aunts, Beatrice Brownfield Pierce of Sikeston and Virginia Brownfield (Tommy) Brack of Poplar Bluff; his great-aunt, Shirley Allen of East Prairie; also, several cousins survive.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his uncle, Curtis Pierce; his maternal grandparents, O.C. Yeakey and Mary Weekley Yeakey and his paternal grandparents, Grover Brownfield and Vada Sims Brownfield.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the funeral hour at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2024, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston. Rev. Mike Hodges, interim pastor of the Tanner Street Church of God in Sikeston, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston.
