Miss Cotton Carnival crowned

Jaycee McMillian, senior at Park Hills Central High School and daughter of Tara and Ashley McMillian, was crowned the 2024 Miss Cotton Carnival Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024, during the 80th Annual American Legion Cotton Carnival at the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo grounds in Sikeston. First runner-up was Avery Fritz, sophomore at Sikeston High School and daughter of Ashley and Tanner Fritz. Second runner-up was Gelaiya McCray, sophomore at Sikeston High School and daughter of George and Teah McCray.Katie Staples, junior at Portageville High School and daughter of Erin Staples, was named Miss Congeniality.
