Loretta Gadberry
SIKESTON — Loretta May Whorton Gadberry, age 59, passed away on Oct. 7, 2024, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, Missouri.
She was born on Jan. 8, 1965, in Chaffee, Missouri, to the late James T and Merlene Wyatt Whorton.
She worked in food services at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston for seven years.
She is survived by one son, Brandon (Miranda) Gadberry of Sikeston; one daughter, Summer Whorton (Yasin James) of Sikeston; two brothers, Roger Whorton (Sharon Stucky) of Benton, Missouri, and Mardie Whorton of Morley, Missouri; five sisters, Sue Glenn of Chaffee, Peggy (Kenneth) Taylor of Morley, Marvalene Taylor of Morley, Margaret (Richard) Yarbrough of Hartmen, Arkansas, and Teresa Whorton of Mason City, Iowa; five grandchildren, Angel Cox, Phoenyx Cox, Aria Gadberry, Yasmin James and one on the way, Julia May Gadberry; one great-granddaughter, Marceline Giddens; and a special best friend, Terrilynn Bowman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded death by three brothers, Lloyd Ray Whorton, James W. Whorton and Melvin Thomas Whorton; and two brothers-in-law, Jimmy Taylor and Denver Glenn.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, from noon until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston with Johnny Avance, pastor of Grace Tabernacle Church in Sikeston, officiating.
Burial will follow in the New Morley Cemetery in Morley.
Pallbearers will be: Yasin James, Josh Giddens, Jeremy Johnson, Freddie Hicks, Jason Yagle, Austen Smith and Brandon Gadberry.
