Tree removal at country club

SIKESTON — Trees are removed along the ditch Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, at Fox Haven Country Club in Sikeston.

According to Kevin Collins with Fox Haven, the drainage district has the easement on the banks of the ditch and is going to dredge out the ditch after the trees are removed. The banks will then be cleared once a year, so planting new trees in the same location will not be an option, Collins said. While the Country Club did not want this to happen, the drainage ditch has to function properly, Collins said on Fox Haven’s Facebook page.

“We will make the best of it once the final result is known,” Collins said.
