Chauncey Warstler
FRAZEYSBURG, Ohio — Chauncey O’Dair Warstler, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024.
He was born July 23, 1962, in Zanesville, Ohio, to Lawrence and Sandra Warstler. Chauncey married his wife Dodie (Scott) Dec. 31, 1986. He has two children, Casey (Ashley) Warstler of Zanesville, Ohio, and Nicole (Brad) Hancock of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Chauncey has eight grand children: Raelin Stimmel of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Aurora, Ivan, Gideon and Aynslee Warstler of Zanesville, Meredith Hammonds, Tucker Warstler and Lance Hancock of Poplar Bluff. He was blessed with many bonus grandchildren.
Chauncey has four siblings, Darcey Warstler of Newark, Ohio, Dyanne (Mark) Britton of Henderson, Nevada, Cali (Wayne) Johnson of Donnybrook, North Dakota and Tammy (Bill Davlin) Reader of South Sioux City, Nebraska. He has several nieces and nephews who he loved.
Chauncey was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He worked for 30 years at Reynoldsburg City Schools in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, where he spent over 20 years at Herbert Mills Elementary and gained another family from the staff over the years. Chauncey loved tinkering in the garage, spending time with his grandkids and going on shenanigans (as he called them).
Chauncey is preceded in death by his father, father-in-law Jim Scott, nephew Chris Reader and great nephew Austin Scott.
A memorial will be scheduled in Ohio on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, at Mount Pleasant Christian Church; 10866 Church Road; Frazeysburg, Ohio, at noon and Missouri at a later date.
