SIKESTON — A pregnancy and infant loss awareness event took place Monday, Oct. 14, 2024 on the front lawn of Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston in recognition of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, which is in October. One in four pregnancies end in loss (early pregnancy loss, stillbirth or infant loss). According to MDMC, “these are deeply painful experiences that many families face daily, but they receive little attention. It may be hard to talk about, but the more open everyone is, the better Missouri Delta said it can serve bereaved parents.” There were caramel apples, hot chocolate and more. Donations and proceeds received will benefit the Share Program at Missouri Delta Women and Children’s Services.
