SIKESTON — Oran, Missouri, native Macy Todt has been appointed as the new executive director of the Scott County Transit System.

“The new executive director is expected to bring a fresh perspective to the transit team and to boost the awareness and ridership of the transit,” said Michelle Worth, chair of the Scott County Transit System.

Todt is a native of Oran and graduate of Chaffee High School. She has three children and is engaged to be married in 2025.

After attending Ashworth College, Todt most recently held a senior case manager position at a local law firm where she worked with personal injury victims.

“Some of the clients were struggling financially whether it was due to a car accident or being hit by a vehicle while riding their bike. I provided resources to assist them as well as coordinated their medical appointments and arranged transportation to these appointments,” Todt said.

Todt said she is passionate about helping people and finding financial resources for them. Her passion for helping others led her to the Scott County Transit System.

“The Scott County Board is thrilled about the passion and excitement that Macy is bringing to the transit,” Worth said. “There’s a lot of work to be done from educating the riders in the community to developing and building relationships with local business leaders. Macy is a great fit. She has a high level of energy and an eagerness to learn.”

Todt said, unfortuantely, the area is underprivileged which is why the transit system is more important than ever.

“The cost of living is consistently increasing which makes it difficult for people to get transportation to run their day-to-day errands and to make it to their regularly scheduled doctor’s appointments,” Todt said.

Todt said her personal future plan for Scott County Transit is to strive for continued growth with the possibility of expanding transportation to surrounding areas.

“There is a lack of transportation in the area,” Todt said. “I see hiring more drivers and purchasing additional transit vehicles in the future. Another goal is for us to partner with Veteran Affairs so the transit can provide transportation to veterans in the area.”
