Nov. 8 proclaimed as the 19th Annual Multi-County Women’s Health Conference

Before the Sikeston City Council meeting on Oct. 7, Mayor Greg Turnbow proclaimed Friday, Nov. 8 as the 19th Annual Multi-County Women’s Health Conference Day. This year’s theme for the conference will be “A Better Me” with the purpose of the conference to facilitate public awareness of the organizations and services involved and concerned with women’s health serving Scott, Stoddard, Mississippi, New Madrid, Pemiscot, Dunklin, Butler and the surrounding counties. MINER, Mo. — University of Missouri Extension will host the 19th Annual Multi-County Women’s Health Conference from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Miner Baptist Church located on 416 State Highway H. The conference is free of charge with breakfast and lunch, and door prizes provided.

The conference showcases speakers and organizations dedicated to improving women’s health, while onsite exhibits feature several organizations and companies with products or services that appeal to the participants.

For the past 18 years, the conference attendees have received life-changing opportunities to connect with other women and healthcare providers to create new professional and personal roadmaps for their lives.

This year the conference committee members will highlight resources available through their organization. Conference participants will participate in various breakout sessions throughout the day that focus on personal development, money management, legal issues, insurance topics, chronic disease, diet and exercise, gardening and other health and wellness topics.
