Shooting that injured one under investigation in Sikeston

SIKESTON — Police are investigating a shooting that injured one Monday, Oct. 21 in Sikeston.

During the late evening hours on Monday, Sikeston Department of Public Safety was alerted to a report of several gun shots in the 800 block of West Gladys Street, according to Sgt. Tyler Rowe, public information officer for DPS.

“When officers arrived on scene, they were informed a subject had been injured from the gun fire,” Rowe said in a news release issued early Tuesday. “Officers and detectives with the Criminal Investigations Unit began investigating the crime. This is an active investigation, and the name of the victim is not being released and the victim of the gun shot was treated at an area hospital for their injuries sustained.”
