There were 7.0 days suitable for fieldwork in the week ending Oct. 20, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Missouri Crop Progress and Condition Report released Wednesday, Oct. 21. Statewide, the average temperature was 52.6 degrees, 3.4 degrees below normal. Precipitation averaged 0.00 inches, 0.86 inches below normal.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated 24% very short, 45% short, and 31% adequate. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 19% very short, 42% short, and 39% adequate.

Soybeans dropping leaves reached 95%, compared to the five-year average of 93%. Soybeans harvested reached 61%, compared to the five-year average of 43%. Soybean condition was rated 2% very poor, 7% poor, 22% fair, 57% good and 12% excellent.
