SIKESTON — Mary Kathryn Eaton Adams born Aug. 16, 1925, passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024, at the Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston. Services were held at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston on Oct. 25, 2024.

Mary Kathryn was born in Logansport, Indiana, to Buford and Bessie Owens. Her family later moved to Fountain Run, Kentucky. Mary had four brothers: Bob Owens, Charlie Owens, Rex Owens and Joe Owens; and one sister, Doris Berry.

She married Charlie Eaton and then moved to Bloomfield, Missouri, where they raised three children: Danny O’Neal, Charles Thomas “Tommy” Jr. and Sandra Jane. Mary worked at several different jobs, but spent most of her career at Sears and Roebuck. She also loved hosting Home Interior parties at her home.

Charlie Eaton passed away in July 1986. She later married Jack Adams in 1990 who passed away in August 2009. He is survived by his children: Mary Francis Wrather, Bud Adams, Jackie McDonald, Janis Adams and Linnie Adams.

Mary devoted her life to Christ and was the oldest member of Miner Baptist Church in Miner, Missouri. She loved cooking for her family, celebrations, and lace and ruffles. Mary was the queen of hospitality and could often be found on her riding lawn mower on her property.

She is survived by two children, Danny Eaton (Sandy) and Sandra Guthrey (Kile). She had many grandchildren: Jason Eaton of Sikeston, Heidi Nicole Eaton of Sikeston, Toby Charles (Laci) of Dexter, Missouri, Kile P. “Kip” Guthrey III of Miami, Missouri, Kathy Roberts (Brandon) of Omaha, Nebraska, Libby Stewart (Gibb) of Omaha; and many great-grandchildren.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Eaton; second husband, Jack Adams, both parents, all five siblings, son Tommy Eaton, and grandson Ryan Eaton Guthrey.
