Janice Davis
SIKESTON — Janice Charlene (Stroud) Davis, age 75, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024, at her home in Sikeston after fighting a seven-year battle with breast cancer.
She was born in Huntsville, Arkansas, on Sept. 2, 1949, to the late Clarence and Dorothy (Whiteley) Stroud. She was a member of Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston.
She married Junior Lee Davis on Oct. 27, 1995, who preceded her in death.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Loretta Jean and Gorman Kenneth Hartlein Sr.; and a nephew, Danny Stacey.
Left to cherish their memories with her: her two children, Laurie (Roger) Ross and Mark (Flora) Shuey; her two brothers, Dean (Lyn) Stroud and Bill (Kim) Humphrey; her five grandchildren, Heather (Jackie) Hays, Jacob (Jessica) Shuey, Michael (Autumn) Beard, Katelyn Bevard and Abby (Casen) Bryant; her eight great-grandchildren, Allenna (Kyler) Seabaugh, Sherri Hays, Jackie (Cassidy) Hays III, Lucas Hays, Jackson Cork, Brantley Bevard, Zoey Shuey and Drake Bevard; her great-great-granddaughter, Laney Seabaugh; along with many special nieces, nephews, friends and a church family who will always treasure the time they spent with her.
Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 1, 2024, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home where services will be held Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, at 11 a.m. with Brother Brian Adams, pastor of Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will follow at the Matthews Cemetery in Matthews, Missouri.
Pallbearers will be: Brett Stroud, Cole Humphrey, Victor Vandeven, Mark Scholl, Kyler Seabaugh and Jackie Hays III. Honorary pallbearers are Jacob Shuey, Michael Bevard and Lucas Hays.
