Barry Chessor
SIKESTON — Barry James Chessor, age 76, went home peacefully to be with his LORD Jesus on Oct. 31, 2024.
He was born in Point Pleasant, Missouri, son of Wille Whitfield and Virginia Colleen (Eiceman) Chessor. Barry was fourth of six children. Two have preceded him in death, Billy Joe (Suzanne) Chessor and Belinda Joy (Chessor) Greenlee (Robert). His remaining siblings are his beloved sisters Bonnie Jeanette (Chessor) Hill, Barbara June (Chessor) Porter (Jerry) and Beverly Jane (Chessor) Russell. Barry was blessed to have many nieces and nephews and two preceded him in death, David Matthew Porter (Stacey) and Jillona Jane (Russell) Henderson (Kevin).
Barry graduated from Portageville High School in 1964 and from Anderson College in 1970. He met the love of his life, Rita Marie (Smith) Chessor, and they were married on Aug. 9, 1969.
Together they have two daughters, Amy Jenette (Chessor) Rutledge (Joe) and Rebecca Marie (Chessor) Warren (Dave); and grandchildren, Samuel, Jonah, Lucas, Evelyn and Henry.
Barry was an active member at Morley First Church of God in Morley, Missouri.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Nov. 4, 2024, from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
