Bloomfield woman killed in Wednesday crash

BLOOMFIELD, Mo. —A woman was killed in a head-on collision Wednesday evening.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol at 6:08 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6 on Missouri Highway 25, one mile north of Bloomfield, a northbound vehicle driven by a 53-year-old Bloomfield woman crossed the centerline. The northbound vehicle then struck a southbound vehicle driven by a 77-year-old Bloomfield woman.

The driver of the northbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene by Stoddard County Coroner Brent Stidham at 6:16 p.m. This is the 56th fatality for the Troop E area this year.

The driver of the southbound vehicle was seriously injured and taken by air ambulance to St. Louis University Hospital.

Transported by ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau were passengers in the southbound vehicle. A 13-year-old passenger had moderate injuries and a 4-year-old passenger and a 13-year-old passenger had minor injuries.
