ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Rachel Emmalou Morgan, 88, of St. Augustine passed away peacefully on Nov. 11, 2024, at the Bailey Family Center for Caring.
Rachel was born and raised in Lamar, Arkansas, before moving to New Madrid, Missouri, at an early age. There, she met the love of her life, Calvin Morgan, and they married, beginning a life full of love and devotion. Together, they raised their family in New Madrid, where Rachel became known for her deep commitment to her family and her nurturing spirit. A devoted wife and mother, she found great joy in cooking for and caring for her loved ones, making their house a home filled with warmth and kindness.
Rachel moved to St. Augustine two years ago following a car accident, so that her daughter could care for her during her recovery. Her family was always her greatest priority, and she cherished the time spent with them, particularly in her later years.
Rachel is survived by her daughter, Donna Grissom (Charles); son, Adam Dewayne Morgan]; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom will remember her for her strength, compassion, and unwavering love. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Calvin Morgan and son, Calvin Dewayne Morgan.
Rachel's passing leaves a space in the hearts of all who knew her, but her legacy of love and devotion will continue to inspire all who were blessed to be a part of her life. May she rest in peace, reunited with those she loved and who preceded her.
