Not crazy about cats
Something needs to be done about all the cats and kittens running lose on the 600 block of Taylor Street. I am tired of having to drive around them just to get down the street.
We contacted Capt. Jon Broom with Sikeston Department of Public Safety who provided the following response: “Sikeston DPS recommends citizens experiencing animal nuisances in their neighborhood to call Sikeston PAWS at 573-471-7387 Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to request an animal control officer. If they don’t receive an answer at PAWS, they can leave a message or contact Sikeston DPS non-emergency number at 573-471-4711 and ask that an officer respond. They can also report animal complaints using the QR code that will take them to the City of Sikeston website, then go to the animal control tab to complete the report. I also encourage people to report less than satisfactory service for animal control officers or Sikeston DPS officers responding to these complaints. They can reach out to me personally at my email address at jbroom@sikston.org or call 573-471-4711 and ask to speak with me or leave a message. Our goal at Sikeston DPS and PAWS is to provide a friendly, compassionate animal service to all our citizens and welcome feedback.”
