Letter: Sikeston Community Thanksgiving Day meal serves over 800
Dear Editor,
We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support and generosity shown by our community during this year’s Community Thanksgiving Dinner in Sikeston. Thanks to your kindness and dedication, we were able to serve a remarkable 812 people a delicious and heartwarming meal.
We extend our sincerest thanks to the following individuals and organizations for their invaluable contributions: Bo Ozment and the Sikeston VFW team, Gabbie Hodgkiss and family, Lisa Hicks, Lambert’s Cafe, Jay’s, Burch Foods, Sikeston Rotary Club, Farm Credit, The One Church, Miner Baptist Church ladies, Tanner Street Church of God ladies, Grassroots Tent Revival, Sikeston/Bootheel Area United Way, American Legion and Ladies Auxiliary, Chester Kordahl, Marlene Stevens, Amy Nantz, Cotton Carnival queens (past and current), Mike Johnson-VFW, Food Giant (N. Main), Pam Lowe and family, Lolita Scott and all those who delivered meals, (anyone else we might have missed) and volunteered their time to help prepare, serve and clean up.
Your hard work, generosity and volunteer spirit made this event possible. We are truly blessed to be part of such a caring community.
May God bless you all abundantly!
Sincerely,
Sikeston Thanksgiving
