Clay Miller
FAIRMONT, West Virginia — John Clayton “Clay” Miller, age 43, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2024, in Fairmont. Clay was born to John and Diann Black Miller on Dec. 18, 1980, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
He was a 1999 graduate of Kelly High School in Benton, Missouri. He worked for the Missouri Department of Prisions as a corrections officer for many years before becoming a federal corrections officer at the federal prision in Hazelton, West Virignia.
Clay married his love, Elizabeth “Liz” Smith Miller in March 2009, and she survives of the home. He is also survived by his precious children, John Paxton, Baylee Rose and Delaynie Lynn Miller, all of the home.
Along with his wife, children and parents, he is survived by his brother, Joseph and Sarah Miller of Pilot Knob, Missouri; niece and nephew, Sphia and Jensen Miller, also of Pilot Knobb; aunt and uncle, Dayna and Rob Laseter of Carson, Iowa; uncle, Tom Miller of Sikeston; and numerous sisters- and brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Norman “Punk” and Molly Evans, Wayne Black, Melvin Miller, Christine Miller, Aunt Pamela Garner and numerous aunts and uncles.
A burial service will be held at a later date at the Blodgett Cemetery.
