SIKESTON — Sikeston Middle School Teacher Torrie Helms was celebrated for being selected as a 2024 McDonald’s Outstanding Educator. Hilburn-Vaini McDonald’s Area Supervisor Tony Seabaugh visited the school to present Helms with the award.

Local McDonald’s restaurants started this award program five years ago to celebrate area teachers and honor them for exhibiting the ultimate dedication to their students and going the extra mile to contribute to the improvement of education. Helms was selected from a pool of over 400 nominations.

“Our local educators consistently give their best to ensure the success of our students,” said local McDonald’s Owner/Operator Andi Hilburn-Vaini. “Torrie truly deserves this recognition, and it’s an honor to celebrate all that she does for children in the Sikeston community.”

Helms was nominated for her dedication and passion for working with youth, whether in the classroom or on the soccer field. Her dedication to helping kids succeed and grow is evident in everything she does. Helms’ commitment to shaping the next generation makes her a truly deserving candidate for the McDonald’s Outstanding Educator Award.
