NEW MADRID -- It took a New Madrid County jury less than an hour to convict a Sikeston teen of sodomizing a 21-month-old child. Jonathan Ervin, 17, was found guilty of first degree statutory sodomy following a trial heard in New Madrid on a change of venue. Sentencing for Ervin is set for March 13...

NEW MADRID - Alice Marie Myers, 92, died Jan. 27, 2012, at the Golden Age Living Center in New Madrid. Born Jan. 11, 1920, in Marston, the daughter of the late Raymond W. and Alice Hodges Nelson, she was raised in Marston where she attended the Marston School. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church at New Madrid...

NEW MADRID -- Billy Dan Cook of New Madrid passed away Jan. 29, 2012, at Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau where he has been a resident since June of 2011. Bill was a rural mail carrier for Route 3 in Portageville for over 30 years. Along with his wife, he also owned Cook's Jewelry and Gifts in Portageville where he was a watch and jewelry repairman. ...
