SIKESTON - The works of two local artists, Marty Riley and Judy Perkins, will be featured beginning at 5 p.m. Friday at the Sikeston Depot Museum during the Downtown Gallery Walk. I read in your July 2 newspaper where the city council had voted to contract with Strategic Governmental Resources to help them search for a city manager candidate. The city is committing to spend anywhere from $12,000 to $27,000 dollars for this. My concern is that they should first list this job opening with Missouri Municipal League, and see what kind of qualified applicants they could get before they commit us to this kind of expenditure of taxpayer resources. ...
