Planting smiles

Loretta Buttrey, manager and designer at the Flower Patch, prepares some of the plants which will be given away as part of "Make Someone Smile" Week. Working with Teleflora, which donates the oversized yellow mugs, Flower Patch personnel added the plants and donated their time. This year, Buttrey said, they will donate the mugs to Missouri Delta Medical Center and nursing homes as well as providing them to local churches, who will deliver them to shut-ins and others in need of a smile...

Several citizens took advantage of the open house Saturday at the Sikeston Department of Public Safety headquarters, located at 201 S. Kingshighway. Visitors were able to tour the new building. SEMO students will learn about entrepreneurship

A new enterprise being developed by Southeast Missouri State University will help students learn some fundamentals of entrepreneurship.
