LILBOURN, Mo. - Once again the children of Lilbourn were treated to an early visit from Santa Claus.
On Dec. 20, Santa was on hand to give presents to youngsters along with treat bags filled with candy, oranges and apples.
The event was organized by Virgie Johnson of Lilbourn, who was assisted by members of the New Madrid County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7183 and its Auxiliary. According to Johnson, also helping make the event possible were: Mike and Mary Seyer, the city of Lilbourn, the New Madrid Pharmacy, Dollar General of Lilbourn, Casey’s of Lilbourn, the Kid’s Zone Day Care, Beasley’s Detail Shop, Tim Dambach, Judy Riley, Leann Branum of New Madrid, Dollar Tree, David Crouthers, David Pemberton, Andrew Campbell, Johnny Stoker, Ricky Mann Jr., Jenny Mann, Pam Small Hampton, Iran Hillis and many others. In addition, she noted the assistance of Vanessa Frazier, Bertha Moore and Lanai Peterson in organizing previous Christmas events.
“It doesn’t matter how big or how small the donations, they all were greatly needed and went to a good cause,” said Johnson. “People showing up and giving their time also contributed to making this event a success.”
