Man charged for domestic disturbance
On the afternoon of Jan. 21, officers responded to an address in the 600 block of Mill Street in reference to an assault in progress.
When they arrived on-scene they found a woman standing on the sidewalk with an injury to her head. The woman said she had been assaulted by her boyfriend, who had forced the front door of the apartment open and punched her in the face during an argument.
Officers went to the apartment and found that the front door had been damaged. The woman’s boyfriend came to the door and admitted that he hit her during a fight.
The man was placed under arrest and later charged with domestic assault.
On the morning of Jan. 24, an officer responded to the 600 block of Main Street where two people were fighting on the sidewalk. When the officer arrived, one man said he had been hit in the face several times by another man at the scene, but he had no real visible marks.
The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to the sheriff’s department for booking. He was later released on a summons for peace disturbance.
