Man jailed for bond violation
On the afternoon of March 17, a report was filed about a subject who was violating the conditions of his bond by contacting the victim in the case. The man, who is on bond for burglary and domestic assault, was driving by the victim’s house repeatedly and trying to contact her by phone.
A report was sent to the New Madrid County prosecutor for review and the judge issued a no bond warrant for the man. He was arrested and placed in jail on March 18.
On March 19, an officer responded to Interstate 55 near the south overpass for a report of someone breaking into a vehicle.
When the officer arrived on-scene he found a man walking down the interstate and it appeared that an abandoned vehicle had been broken into. The officer found several items in the man’s pockets that had been taken from the car, so placed him under arrest for breaking into the car.
The man, who is also on bond for burglary, was placed in jail for tampering with a motor vehicle.
