Ex-boyfriend kicks in door to New Madrid residence
On the night of April 12, just after midnight, officers responded to an address on Main Street for a domestic disturbance. When they arrived, they found that the back door to the house had been kicked in but the suspect had already left.
A woman at the house said her ex-boyfriend kicked in the door, assaulted her and fled the area before the police arrived. Officers checked the area for the suspect but he was not located.
A report was taken and a probable cause affidavit was forwarded to the New Madrid County Prosecutor’s Office for the filing of formal charges.
Later in the night on April 12, an officer responded to an apartment in the 400 block of Vandenvender for trespassing.
The resident said her neighbor knocked on her door asking for a cigarette. She said she has told the man before not to be on her property and she made him leave.
Officers made contact with the man and he was issued a summons for trespassing.
