Several items found during investigation of drug activity
On the night of April 16, officers with the police department served a search warrant in the 1400 block of Mill Street after receiving several reports about drug activity in the area.
When the officers approached, one of the residents tried to run but was caught before he left the property. Inside the house officers located over a half-pound of methamphetamine, four handguns, and numerous other items of drug paraphernalia.
A man and woman were placed under arrest.
According to online court record on April 19, Ross Edward Baker of New Madrid was charged with first degree trafficking or attempt to traffic drugs and four counts of unlawful possession of a firearm.
The New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol, and the Drug Enforcement Administration assisted in the investigation.
