Ohio man wanted by police found hiding in closet
NEW MADRID, Mo. - On the morning of Nov. 22, officers investigating an assault that had occurred over the weekend received information about a subject who was wanted out of Ohio. When the officers learned the man’s identity they found that he had a warrant for parole violation and escape from custody after walking away from a halfway house in Ohio.
After checking several addresses, officers and New Madrid County deputies found the man hiding in a closet in a house on Happy Lane. He was taken into custody and is awaiting extradition back to Ohio.
On the night of Nov. 23, officers responded to a business on Highway 61 where there was an argument in the parking lot.
After separating the parties, one of them became belligerent and started arguing with the officer. The man started resisting when he was placed in handcuffs and the woman he was with tried to intervene.
The man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest and the woman was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
