Help sought to solve vehicle break-in at observation deck

NEW MADRID, Mo. - Shortly after noon on Oct. 19, a couple reported that their car was broken into while parked near the observation deck on the levee.

The couple reported they parked their car across from the museum, then walked the riverfront and went in the museum.

When they got back to their car, the passenger side window had been broken out and a purse was missing from the car.

A short time later, two of the credit cards from the purse were used at Wal-Mart in Sikeston.

Later that afternoon, the purse was found in a trashcan at another local business in Sikeston.
