On the afternoon of March 5, an officer responded to the laundromat on Dawson Road in reference to a theft.
A man said he left his clothes in a dryer and while he was gone, someone took the clothes and left. Surveillance cameras in the building showed a woman stealing the clothes and she has been identified as a resident of Portageville.
This is the second time over the last few months that someone has been charged with stealing from the laundromat, and the owners are very proactive in taking steps to prevent thefts.
The laundromat is a valuable service in our town to those who need it, and because of the work of the owners, if you steal from their business you are going to get caught.
