New Madrid Police investigate assaults
NEW MADRID, Mo. — On Oct. 3, at around 4 p.m., officers responded to a business in the Villa Shopping Center for an assault.
When they arrived, they found one man bleeding profusely with injuries to his mouth. According to several witnesses, the man who was injured had attempted to get into the locked office of the building. When an employee stopped him from going into the office, the man threatened to assault the employee.
A fight began and the man who made the threat was the one who suffered the injury to his mouth. He was transported by EMS and the case is still under review at this time.
At 9 p.m. Nov. 11, officers responded to an apartment on Blades Drive for a domestic disturbance.
A man and woman who live together were arguing over property and just as the officer arrived, the man struck a family member who was also at the apartment. He was placed under arrest for domestic assault and transported to the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department for booking.
The assault caused minor injuries to one person, who did not need medical treatment.
