Portageville High School temporarily moves to full virtual education

PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. — Portageville High School began Thursday transitioning to full virtual education through Nov. 6, the school district announced Wednesday. “We plan on returning to in-person classes on Nov. 9,” said a message posted on the school district’s official website and Facebook page. “This is a result of increased COVID-19 contact tracing. Seven virus deaths reported in Scott County since Friday

Seven deaths related to COVID-19 have been reported in Scott County since Friday. The Scott County Health Department reported six deaths between Friday to Tuesday afternoon and another death, the county’s 27th, was reported Wednesday. An additional 40 positive cases were reported late Wednesday afternoon while 25 more people have fully recovered.
