BENTON -- Following allegations of sex crimes brought forward last month, a Scott County grand jury has charged Ronald Sherrod for several crimes, including forcible rape and armed criminal action. Sherrod, 59, of Sikeston, is charged with statutory sodomy, forcible rape, armed criminal action, child molestation, sexual misconduct and furnishing pornographic materials to minors...

In two games at VFW Memorial Stadium on Tuesday, Dunklin County Post 303 scored 25 runs, belted 25 hits and handed Post 114 two consecutive losses, 7-2 and 18-7.

Last week I penned this column on the topic of "flash mobs" that were wreaking their unique brand of violence on a number of urban areas over the Memorial Day holiday weekend. It was the sheer volume of these incidents that caught my eye. Several reports of violence, vandalism and general mayhem were reported from Miami to Chicago and all fell under the same description - gangs of young people roaming the streets and stores in search of victims...
