SIKESTON -- Those in search of an early Thanksgiving meal are in luck. The Green Memorial Church of God in Christ will provide a free Thanksgiving community dinner from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at the church, located at 113 Clayton Ave. in Sikeston. BENTON -- Three Benton men were arrested in connection to several thousand dollars' worth of copper wire being stolen from a Scott County farmer. Mathew Bristow, 26, Jeffrey Bunch Jr., 23, and Michael Gunter, 20, were arrested after a short car chase Thursday night, according to a Scott County Sheriff's Department news release. The three men are allegedly linked to the theft of copper wires from an irrigation center pivot, according to the release...

SIKESTON - Linda Daugherty, 67, died Nov. 14, 2011, at her home in Sikeston. Ponder Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, which are incomplete.

SIKESTON -- Donnie Gene Walls, 74, of Sikeston, died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2011, at his residence. Born Jan. 23, 1937, in Scotland, Ark., to the late Huse and Mary Rhoades Walls, he was a truck driver and small engine mechanic and a member of the Teamsters Union for many years...
