What are we going to do?

Thursday, March 26, 2020

“What are we going to do?” I found myself pondering often during this time. I have felt deep, uncertainty, and panic about the terrible plight we are enduring. Recently, God spoke to me that this Virus is not a time of hopelessness and defeat, but a time to find hope. It is important to see this as an opportunity to grow and trust God. Last week I started a theme at our church called “Season of Hope: We Will Stand!” 1 Peter is a book where the Christians were under incredible stress and trials and the book focuses on our living (lively) hope. 1 Peter provides us the truth we need to stand in stability and victory during this time. Be sure and focus on our lively hope and not the virus. Take this week and read 1 Peter. Also, during this time remember to support your local church’s online services and programming. If you need something for the kids, tune into First Baptist Church Sikeston’s virtual Sunday class were I will be teaching a Bible lesson for the kids with a craft they can do at home.

Did you know that you can go to heaven only through Jesus Christ? Many people think they go to heaven by baptism or being a “good” person, giving money to “my” church, and other works.

John 14:6 reads: Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Acts 4:12 reads: Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

It is great in a season of uncertainty we can know 100% for sure that God is known through Jesus Christ. Today, trust Christ!
