Five ways a person keeps going and ends up in destruction

Thursday, January 27, 2022

Proverbs 14:12- “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”

How many have said, they know what they are doing to only discover they go the wrong way and end up hurt or worse. Although there are many, let’s look at five ways a person keeps going and ends up in destruction.

1. Proverbs 25:28- “He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.” A city without walls was defenseless. That speaks of not using self-control. A person who does not learn to control himself will end up in a position leading them vulnerable.

2. Proverbs 14:23- “In all labour there is profit: But the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.” Penury means need or poverty. Basically, if person talks only about work or their plans and does not actually work they will end up poor.

3. Proverbs 13:20- “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.” If a person chooses to hang out with foolish people, they will be destroyed. Every grand-child and young person you know show them Proverbs 13:20.

4. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12- “Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Isolation is never helpful. If a person isolates themselves, they will fall. Make sure you have good support system around you.

5. Mark 8:36- “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” Anyone that does not make sure they have taken care of their soul will end up destroyed. Your soul is the part of you that is eternal. It is tragic when a person dies and is not sure of where they will spend eternity. Too many people gain the whole world and lose eternity with God. The Bible is very clear the only way to be with God for eternity is to believe in Jesus Christ. “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” -John 3:36
