Community-wide Bible study on Book of Revelation planned

Thursday, February 17, 2022

The stress and fear everywhere has caused uncertainty about the future due to the country’s division, election year, COVID, potential increase of conflict with Russia and China, border issues, and so much else.

According to David Nather of Axios, “Americans are less optimistic and more nervous about what 2022 has in store for the world than they were heading into 2021, according to a new Axios/Momentive poll.”

With all these trials, last year Pastor Mathew of First Baptist decided to do something and taught a very basic overview of the end of the world according to the Bible. Not surprisingly, it was well attended, and he knew there was a hunger for more.

This Sunday he will begin a Bible study on the book Revelation at 6 p.m. open to the entire community.

The book of Revelation explains about the end times and the return of Jesus Christ. Many things that are happening in the world today were predicted by the Bible.

Pastor Mathew shared, “I hope that everyone will either tune in or especially come and learn about this great book together.”

One member of the church, Sue Meadows, shared, “I hope that the community will be inspired and get clarification of the book of Revelation”.

Pastor Matthew has been a lifetime Bible learner and teacher with other 30 years of experience and is presently finishing his doctorate in Theology and the Bible.

“My goal is to teach this complex book in a way that anyone can understand. It is absolutely critical that everyone understands this important book that tells what will happen.”

The Revelation will be Sundays at 6 p.m. starting Feb. 20 at First Baptist Church (1101 N. Main st., www.fbcsikeston.org) and is open to everyone no matter their church membership.
