Helping to get unstuck
Have you ever had someone to refer to their life by saying, “I’m stuck?”
If you are that person that thinks they are stuck, let’s look at a plan modified from the mind of Life Coach Larry Glabe. He is my friend that developed this to help people figure out how to get somewhere.
Getting “unstuck” starts with trusting Jesus Christ as your Savior. This is done by realizing you are sinner (Romans 3:23) and believing Jesus died for you and rose from the day. 1 Corinthians 15 “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
From the foundation of Jesus Christ, to get “unstuck”work through the following questions. It is important to have a friend or a spouse walk through this process with you. Ask yourself what are your passions or what is it you are excited about? Now start thinking about what is possible or what is your platform to do this.
For example, if I love learning about the stars, but am 50, being an astronaut is not possible. At the same time, becoming an astronomer is.
Once you analyze your possible career, ask yourself what is the preparation needed? For example, you have a passion for helping drug addicts and have decided your platform will be a licensed therapist. You then need to analyze the steps to do that. Use the internet, but make sure you talk with someone who knows you and is doing what you are planning to do. Make sure to get in-depth information.
The key step is then to formulate a realistic plan. If it is as a license therapist, where will you go to school, what is the cost, how long will it take, and other important information. This is where you must write down as much detail as you can. Remember a dream without a plan is happy, but stationary. A plan with a dream is a road to get there.
The final point is deciding if you will commit! Everything will require a cost and some costs are not worth making. Once you have this in place and have considered the cost… GO FOR IT!!! Don’t let fear, your limitations, or anyone stop you.
